At epiclinic® we offer a variety of anti-wrinkle treatments. This includes tiny anti-wrinkle injections, laser treatment and high-tech devices that include Fraxel and Exilis. We can rebuild lost collagen, lift, restore and redefine lost volume in the mid-face and around the mouth, reduce downturned corners of the mouth and even just treat deep set wrinkles in the forehead. During your consultation, your treatment plan will be established. We use 3D imaging technology to monitor your results. This technology is a cornerstone of most of our treatments as it provides a way for our doctor Dr Michael Molton to define the issues and measure the outcomes of your treatment.
Your treatment plan will be based on the issues that are discovered during the 3D analysis process.
If we find a lack of collagen we may recommend a laser procedure. If you have healthy skin but are showing signs of wrinkle development, then we may recommend muscle relaxants (anti-wrinkle injections). We customise your treatment to meet your personal
Anti-wrinkle injections have been widely used as a cosmetic treatment since 1995. They involve the use of muscle relaxing substances. We have treated thousands of patients, with great results. We focus on maximum patient comfort.
Wrinkle relaxers can address the following.
We are accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS). This requires us to offer an emphasis on quality assurance and best practices. Our aim is always not to over treat, use stale, time-expired or watered-down products or use illegal imports. We always take a conservative treatment approach, by starting with the lowest recommended dose in first-timers and a complimentary review to assess outcome in 2 weeks. There is an extremely low and rare complication rate.

When it comes to physical changes seen in the body and on the face, the ageing process is a case of when and not if. Wrinkles and facial lines are an inevitable part of ageing for all of us. That does not however mean they are untreatable and unpreventable!
At epiclinic® we have a range of anti-wrinkle treatments that can help disguise the appearance of ageing, slow down and even prevent the signs of ageing. We offer a range of anti-wrinkle injections (muscle relaxants) and also dermal fillers.
Dynamic lines are the lines that are visible on your face when you make an expression.
Dynamic lines can often be reduced by limiting the movement of the muscles that are responsible for causing the lines or wrinkles. This is done with injectable medications that can offer an average of four months of results.
If you are looking for dynamic line treatment it is very important that you tell the health practitioner if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you have a nerve disease prior to treatment.
The treatment only takes a few minutes and the procedure is easily tolerable for most people. On some occasions, patients may have a small pin-prick bruise that is coverable with makeup and may last a few days.
The best treatment for your wrinkles and facial lines depends on whether they are what we call ‘dynamic’ lines or ‘static’ lines. Dynamic lines are those that appear and disappear with the change of facial expressions whereas static lines are there regardless of your expression.
Anti-wrinkle injections are not the right choice for every patient. Those who are pregnant, planning on pregnancy, breastfeeding or living with a nerve or muscle disease will not be suitable candidates for anti-wrinkle injections. As with any treatment, it’s important to discuss your health history with your practitioner. Generally speaking, most people are suitable candidates for anti-wrinkle treatments.
The majority of patients report feeling little to no discomfort during the procedure. There may be a very small sting felt with each injection. Some minor tenderness may be present for a few hours after the anti-wrinkle injections but it will pass fairly quickly. Icepacks can be helpful.
There is always the chance that you could bruise after any type of treatment that uses needles. We will take every possible step to minimise your potential for bruising. It is important to keep in mind that there are some medications and supplements that can potentially increase your bruising risks. Fish oil, aspirin and vitamin E, as examples, can thin your blood. This will increase your chances for seeing bruises. It’s important to let your practitioner have a list of any medications that you are taking, prior to your treatment.
Anti-wrinkle injections treatment take less than 30 minutes, generally speaking. Your consultation will be the longest part of the procedure, with subsequent appointments taking just the amount of time it takes to get you comfortable and injected.
Anti-wrinkle injections do not show results immediately. It can take up to a full week before you are able to see some results. Most patients see the full results of their injections by 2 weeks.
Results can vary between individuals, based on several factors unique to each patient. The majority of patients see their results lasting between 4 and 6 months, while some see results lasting for as long as 12 months. It is important to have realistic goals and expectations about any cosmetic treatment.
As your treatment begins to wear off, the targeted muscles will simply regain their ability to move. This typically happens within 3 to 4 months of the procedure. Lines and wrinkles will also start to gradually return, so it’s important to return if you wish to top up your treatment.
Anti-wrinkle treatments are generally well-tolerated by most. Some patients may experience soreness, bruising and swelling at the injection site. Some may have headaches shortly after the injections. Rarely, complications could include an allergic reaction and infection. It is always important to share a complete medical history with your practitioner before you undergo any type of procedure or treatment.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-invasive treatment. The majority of patients are able to go about their day-to-day lives without much issue after the procedure. Avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours after treatment. Alcohol may increase your risks for bruising at the injection sites. It’s also a good idea to avoid working out for those first 24 hours and skip extremes in temperatures such as those you’ll experience in a sauna. Avoid massaging or rubbing on the injected areas for the first day after treatment, as this can unintentionally spread the injected product around to other muscles.
A conservative approach is the best approach and will help to avoid that frozen look. We begin your treatment by using the lowest recommended dosage. This will ensure that you will not look like you’ve been over-treated. We can always enhance your results if there is room for improvement seen at your follow-up appointments. Natural results are our ultimate goal.
