CoolSculpting® Consultation for Buttock Contour Concerns

At epiclinic®, we offer medical consultations to assess concerns about buttock contour (including the “banana roll” area beneath the crease). A registered health professional will review your goals and medical history, examine the treatment area and—if appropriate—discuss whether non-surgical body contouring with controlled cooling (CoolSculpting®) may be suitable. Suitability and outcomes vary between individuals.

How CoolSculpting® works (overview)

CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical body contouring technology that applies controlled cooling to targeted areas to reduce subcutaneous fat thickness. Applicators are positioned over the treatment area; the cycle delivers cooling within set safety parameters while protecting the skin. Treated fat cells are gradually cleared by the body over time.

CoolSculpting® is not a weight-loss treatment. It does not address skin laxity or cellulite.

Areas we commonly assess

  • Buttock “banana roll” region (sub-gluteal fat pad)

  • Adjacent contours that may influence the overall shape

What to expect at your consultation

  1. Assessment: Review of goals, medical history/medications, examination of tissue pinch thickness, skin quality and symmetry.
  2. Discussion: If clinically appropriate, your practitioner will explain treatment suitability, expected number of cycles, approximate review timeframes, and care instructions.
  3. Alternatives: Where relevant, we’ll discuss alternative or complementary approaches (e.g., lifestyle measures or other non-surgical options) if better aligned with your goals.
  4. Informed decision-making: Benefits, risks and limitations are covered so you can decide what’s right for you.

Treatment experience (if suitable)

During a typical cycle, you may feel suction/pressure and intense cooling for several minutes before the area becomes numb. Most people remain comfortable enough to read or relax during the session. After treatment, temporary redness, numbness, tingling, swelling, firmness, bruising or tenderness can occur.

Risks, limitations & precautions (general)

All medical procedures carry risks. In addition to temporary effects noted above, rare events can include paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), changes in skin sensation, contour irregularities or late-onset discomfort. Not everyone is a candidate. Please advise your practitioner about any hernias in the area, cold-related conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding or recent illness before considering treatment.

After your appointment

If a treatment plan is agreed, you’ll receive written pre-/post-care and a recommended review timeframe to assess progress. Contact the clinic if you experience unexpected symptoms.

Fees & bookings

A fee applies for medical consultations. Current fees and availability are provided when you contact the clinic. No treatment is recommended or undertaken without a prior consultation.
