FAQs — Cosmetic Medicine Consultations

Below are answers to common questions about cosmetic medicine consultations at epiclinic®. They’re intended to help you understand what to expect and how suitability is assessed.

If you have a specific question, please call 08 8227 2242 or contact us online to ask about current consultation availability and fees.

General information only; not medical advice. Individual outcomes vary. Any use of prescription-only medicines is determined in consultation; we do not advertise these products or their prices.

Who is the best candidate for cosmetic treatment?

A registered health professional. They’ll review your concerns, medical history and goals, examine the area(s) of concern and—if appropriate—discuss options, risks, benefits and alternatives. No treatment is guaranteed or pre-selected.

What happens at a cosmetic medicine consultation?

Assessment of your health and anatomy, discussion of concerns and goals, and a personalised plan if suitable. You’ll have time for questions so you can make an informed decision.

Can I have treatment on the same day?

Only if it’s clinically appropriate after assessment, you give informed consent, and a cooling-off period (if advised) has been considered. Same-day treatment is not promised.

How do I know if I’m suitable?

Suitability depends on your medical history, anatomy, medications and goals. Some patients—e.g., those who are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, or with relevant medical conditions—may be advised to defer or avoid certain options.

Do you advertise prescription-only medicines (e.g., “anti-wrinkle,” “fillers”)?

No. Australian regulations prohibit advertising prescription medicines to the public. We provide information about consultations for concerns; if a prescription-only option is relevant, your practitioner will discuss it in consultation.

What results should I expect?

Responses vary between individuals. Your practitioner will explain likely timelines for review, the range of expected outcomes and limitations for your specific situation.

What are the risks or side effects?

All procedures carry risks. Depending on the option selected, temporary effects like redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur; less common risks will be explained before any treatment. Tell us your full medical history, allergies and medications.

How should I prepare for my consultation?

Bring a list of current medications (including supplements), past procedures and medical conditions. Arrive with clean skin if the face will be examined. Avoid changing or stopping medications unless your GP or specialist has advised you.

Can I see before-and-after images?

We may share patient images obtained with consent for general information. Images are illustrative only—individual results vary.

How are prices discussed?

Consultation fees are provided when you book. If treatment is suitable, expected costs are discussed in consultation. We do not advertise prices for prescription-only medicines.

Do you offer finance or discounts?

We avoid inducements. If payment options are available, they’re discussed privately and presented without pressure.

What if I need time to think?

Please take the time you need. You’re welcome to book a follow-up once you’ve considered the information.
