Update on COVID-19

Police Clearance: Premises Inspection 11:30am today

As an Accredited Healthcare Facility, following Police inspection and interview on our premises today, at this time epiclinic is authorised to provide medical services to patients. General Practice services via Telehealth will also be added for those of our existing patients who are unable to get to see their usual doctor for such items as renewal of prescriptions and continuity of general healthcare. Patients can access this facility by Facetime to my mobile 0411 860 315. If you do not have this facility, contact the office (08) 82272242 for further advice.

Patients with personal concerns regarding COVID-19 should NOT attend this clinic under any circumstances and should seek medical advice from the appropriate, published centres (SA Health).

Below I have listed epiclinic’s Infection Control Policy which will be continuously updated daily. Those patients who have booked appointments can be assured that the measures taken of the highest standard, and compliant with Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

In addition to existing Infection Control Policies, Epiclinic applies the following measures in regards to prevent transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the working environment.

  1. ‘At the door’ instructions to patients not to enter if ‘you, or someone accompanying you’:
    • Have fever, cough and/or shortness of breath
    • Have been recently tested for the virus (whether or not the result is known)
    • There has been contact with persons who have been tested (whether or not the result is known)
    • If you have returned from overseas in the last fourteen(14) days
  2. The front door to be locked at all times
  3. Medescan Thermometer is to be used on every patient before entering the premises
  4. Febrile patients will be advised to immediately self-isolate and seek medical advice
  5. Request ALL patients to use the hand sanitiser at the reception desk on arrival and when leaving the premises
  6. All reading hard copy material to be removed from all areas
  7. Remove sufficient chairs from the waiting area to permit a social distance of 1.5m
  8. Direct waiting patients away from common areas as soon as practicable to a single room
  9. Wipe down all common areas, door handles, chairs and other objects that may have come in contact with persons following attendances at the clinic
  10. Staff to maintain social distancing of 1.5m with others, including other staff, patients and visitors
  11. External surfaces of stock arrivals to be wiped down with sanitiser before opening
  12. Regular cleaning phone handsets throughout the day
  13. Pay particular attention to kitchen hygiene and wipe down areas with sanitiser after each use
  14. Strictly observe the ‘five moments of handwashing’ notices placed in every room
  15. In the event of a staff member developing symptoms of cough, shortness of breath and/or fever to alert management by telephone self-isolate at home and seek medical advice. Staff members who develop symptoms at work must leave the premises immediately, and once away from the premises alert management by telephone
  16. In the event that transmission to a staff member is confirmed by testing, all staff members must seek medical advice independently and the premises closed for 48 hours minimum, or until the result of testing is known whereupon further assessment in the duration of closure will be determined by management in accordance with Health Department SA directives
